Intimacy Directors International UK
The day will focus on ways of approaching intimacy on stage as a performer.
Introduction to the work of Intimacy Directors International UK which is the leading training body for Intimacy Direction (for stage) and Intimacy Coordination (for film/TV) in London.
The day will focus on ways of approaching intimacy as a performer. We will discuss topics surrounding the performance of nudity, simulated sex, kissing and “making out” on stage and introduce exercises of how to approach such practices.
Please note, the workshop will incorporate discussion, observation and practical exercises. Participants will work within their boundaries and action will be instructed and can be modified, no nudity will be practiced.
trainers:
Amanda Cutting is an award nominated actor and director. She has been active in both professional and semi-professional theatre, Film and Television for 22+ years. Amanda has worked as an actor advocate and Intimacy choreographer/coordinator for the last 6 years and is currently an Intimacy Director with IDI-UK and an apprentice with IDI- USA. She has a variety of certifications and works internationally assisting in creating safe workplaces for artists on both stage and film sets. Currently, Amanda is in the process of creating a physical movement lexicon for Intimacy which hopefully will be published by 2021.
Yarit Dor is an Intimacy Coordinator, co-director of Moving Body Arts Ltd and co-founder of Intimacy Directors International UK. Her credits on IMDb include: Adult Material (Channel 4), The Nevers (HBO) and she’s currently working as an Intimacy Coordinator for programmes produced by Amazon Studios, Netflix, Starz and Sky TV. Yarit is a Lead Instructor with IDI-UK and an Associate Tutor of RADA. She has taught intimacy practice to performers in the UK at: Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Rose Bruford College, East 15, Arts Ed.
In the live performance sector Yarit works as a Movement & Intimacy Director and Fight Director. She is an Ensemble Associate Artist of Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre and her theatre credits include: West End, Shakespeare’s Globe, Royal Exchange Manchester, Young Vic, Bush Theatre and more. www.yarit-dor.com
